About Me

I’m a Sydney / Gadigal-based artist who loves creating artworks based on sights and scenes from my life. I’ve been a passionate art lover for as long as I can remember — creating, drawing and painting wherever I can, and admiring art in all forms. Over the years I have delved into different styles and mediums, but always find myself gravitating back towards acrylics, which I find I can create the most magic with. At times, I enjoy overlapping mediums to further add depth to a piece and explore different possibilities.

My recent work focuses mostly on hyperrealistic / realistic-styled paintings that are inspired by my travels, special memories or anything with a story. I love the idea of capturing a particular memory in the form of art - to be forever preserved in time.

The artwork is created to transport viewers to a special place, reminiscent of memories they may have forgotten, bringing out a sense of joy, comfort, or nostalgia. As I continue with my art journey, experimenting with new ideas and techniques, I am sure to explore new motifs alongside my regular works, as I am continually inspired by new things and the art found in everything.

Through hyperrealism, I get to see things differently, rewiring my brain to break down shapes, colours, shadows and light in a way that often feels counter-intuitive and contrary to our usual perceptions. I enjoy the challenge and am always left with a greater admiration towards the world around me and the little things, as art can be seen everywhere. Each painting becomes a fun puzzle, with layers upon layers of paint and an exploration of what fits best and where.

When not working on a “serious” painting, I find myself sketching, writing and painting pieces that were inspired by the inner corners of my mind — a sort of poetic and therapeutic way to get my feelings out on canvas and peacefully navigate through them. And if not that, then I’m pouring my heart out into the music I play, which centres and calms me, or getting inspired by live music, art galleries, film photography and learning about various mediums of art.
