There’s something timeless about a Vespa — elegant, romantic, free-spirited, and full of character, like the ones you see in old movies. I used to dream of riding one some day along the coast of Italy, with the wind in my hair and old songs playing in my head, or maybe even while holding onto someone like the graceful queen Audrey Hepburn in ‘Roman Holiday' (1953).

I was walking through Alberobello, a beautiful city known for its iconic trulli (limestone huts with cone shaped roofs), when I stumbled upon a white Vespa resting beside a trullo, bathed in golden sunlight. Of course, I couldn’t just ride it off into the sunset, but the artist in me was desperately implored to capture its beauty against the backdrop of a linen canvas, as the scene was clearly a painting just waiting to happen.
